Job summary

Stryker in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Staff CAD / Drafting Specialist to transform ideas into precise, manufacturable solutions within our R&D team. You'll design 3D CAD models, lead drafting standards, and support product development in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma with 6 years of CAD experience, or an associate degree with 4 years, or bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in 3D CAD design and related software.
• Expertise in CAD modeling, drafting standards, and GD&T.
• Experience with PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D CAD models and drawings for concept, prototype, and production, focusing on manufacturability, cost efficiency, and accuracy.
• Create and refine components, subsystems, fixtures, and tooling in compliance with internal and external standards.
• Lead or support engineering change control processes, including documentation creation and release.
• Analyze R&D input independently and deliver actionable design outputs that support project success.
• Contribute to product development by applying knowledge of current offerings and competitive landscape.
• Mentor peers on CAD, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and related systems, resolving technical issues and building team capability.
• Participate in cross-functional teams during product ideation, testing, and prototype delivery, driving alignment and collaboration.
• Apply and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure accuracy and compliance with drafting standards.

• Familiarity with intellectual property considerations in design.
• Ability to contribute to process improvements and standard reviews.

$77,700 - $129,500 USD Annual
