Job summary

Extreme Networks seeks a Staff Build & Release Engineer to join its Hybrid cloud operations team. The role focuses on deploying automation end-to-end for public/private cloud environments and collaborating with software, hardware, QA, and cloud operations to streamline feature integration.

You will design deployment automation, troubleshoot cloud testbeds, and help build reliable, scalable solutions for ExtremeCloud IQ. A strong background in Linux, C/C++, and CI/CD is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years hands-on Build & Release Engineering or DevOps experience.
  • Strong scripting and build automation skills using Bash, Groovy, Maven, Gradle, Make, and Makefiles.
  • Experience building and troubleshooting C/C++ applications in Linux environments.
  • Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and ownership skills with collaboration across distributed teams across time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Jenkins CI/CD jobs, pipelines, build agents, and automation workflows.
  • Support and manage source control platforms including Git/GitHub and Perforce/Helix Core, including repository access, branching strategies, and SSH key management.
  • Maintain Linux-based engineering development, CI/CD, and build server infrastructure.
  • Administer JFrog Artifactory (v7+) including local, remote, virtual, federated repositories, and Docker registry management.
  • Configure, operate, and troubleshoot JFrog Xray scans and SBOM generation and compliance.
  • Integrate Artifactory with CI/CD pipelines with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams.
  • Design and maintain repository replication, synchronization, artifact promotion, retention, cleanup, and storage optimization.
  • Manage shared storage infrastructure including NFS mounts, workspaces, artifact locations, permissions, and disk usage.
  • Configure and troubleshoot NGINX/reverse proxy environments for Artifactory and related services.
  • Monitor system health, capacity, storage utilization, job failures, and risks across CI/CD.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools to improve build system reliability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot complex build, infrastructure, artifact management, and deployment issues for engineering teams.

About the Position:

Position : Staff Build & Release Engineer Experience : 5+ Years Salem, NH or Raleigh, NC - Hybrid Extreme s Cloud Operations team is a group of talented engineers passionate about building highly reliable, scalable and secure solutions in public/private cloud environments. We are looking to hire a highly motivated Build and Release Engineer with strong working experience in providing innovative solutions for production build systems in support of ExtremeCloud IQ. The role empowers build engineers to influence new feature integration by collaborating with engineers from Software, Hardware, QA, and Cloud Operations teams. You will work with the team to design, develop and implement deployment automation solutions end-to-end. You will also be expected to participate in cloud service operation, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in Dev/QA cloud testbeds. We will work together to design, develop and implement the best public / private / local cloud solutions for our customers. Required Skills & Expertise:

Effective collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in distributed teams across multiple time zones.

$130,000 - $150,000 a year This role offers a market competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range of 130,000 to 15,000 USD. Actual compensation will depend on the selected candidate s experience, qualifications, skills, and work location. The posted range reflects the amount Extreme Networks reasonably and in good faith expects to pay upon hire. This range is determined using objective, gender neutral criteria based on skills, experience, responsibility, and working conditions. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a performance based bonus and the full benefits package described below.
