Job summary

Kalepa is seeking a Staff Engineer to own end-to-end architecture for AI-powered insurance workflows. You will design scalable systems that process massive unstructured data with LLMs, driving accuracy, speed, and reliability across production pipelines.

You will work at the intersection of AI and back-end engineering, with ownership of system design decisions, and substantial impact on the product and business. This role is remote in the USA, with a focus on scalable cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience deploying LLMs in production.
• Strong fundamentals in system design and debugging.
• Experience with AWS and serverless architectures (Lambda, EC2).

Responsibilities

• Design the systems and make architectural calls under ambiguity.
• Own end-to-end outcomes for the Submission Processing team.
• Build and scale LLM-based systems processing billions of data points daily.
• Collaborate with frontend/backend teams to ship robust back-end features.
