Job summary

Langan is seeking a Staff Azure Cloud Engineer to join its national Digital Solutions Team. You will provision, configure, and maintain Azure resources supporting Enterprise GIS environments across on‑premises, Azure, and AWS cloud setups for internal and client projects.

The role emphasizes building scalable cloud infrastructure, automating provisioning, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with geospatial, network and development teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, systems eng or related field is required (Master’s is a plus).
  • 2+ years of professional experience designing, executing, and supporting Esri ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305) are a plus.
  • Experience identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Self-motivated learner with up-to-date knowledge of new technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with geospatial, network and development teams to build and configure Azure resources for ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
  • Apply concepts of computing, networking, security, and cloud to system design.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in current server environments.
  • Deploy and maintain hosted applications and databases.
  • Configure logging, monitoring, and alerting thresholds for infrastructure and services.
  • Plan and document disaster recovery, redundancy and backup activities.
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate provisioning and administration.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) to deploy changes.
  • Write comprehensive documentation on system implementations.
  • Manage updates to services and systems.
  • Manage identity and access for cloud resources (Azure AD) and integrations with on-prem AD.
  • Stay up to date with cloud and systems engineering trends.
  • Respond to incidents with recovery and root cause analysis.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Staff Azure Cloud Engineer to join its national Digital Solutions Team. This individual will play a crucial role in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Azure resources that support both current and future Enterprise GIS environments. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of a growing and fast‑paced technology team that works on Esri ArcGIS Enterprise deployments across on‑premises, Azure, and AWS cloud environments for both internal and customer projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Langan’s geospatial, network and development teams to build and configure Azure resources to support ArcGIS Enterprise environments that serve both internal and external clients;
  • Apply concepts of computing, networking, security, and the cloud to system design;
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing server environments;
  • Deploy and maintain hosted applications and databases;
  • Configure logging, monitoring, and appropriate alerting thresholds for infrastructure and services that support ArcGIS Enterprise environments and its dependencies;
  • Plan, develop, test, and document disaster recovery, redundancy, and backup activities for managed cloud infrastructure;
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate resource provisioning, configuration, and administration;
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) to deploy infrastructure and application changes;
  • Write comprehensive documentation on system implementations and changes;
  • Manage and apply updates to services and systems;
  • Manage identity and access for cloud resources, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), conditional access policies, and integration with on‑premises Active Directory where required;
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies, cloud & systems engineering; and
  • Respond to incidents by helping with recovery, mitigation, and root cause analysis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or another related discipline is required (Master’s degree a plus);
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‑104 Administrator Associate, AZ‑305 Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus;
  • 2+ years of professional experience designing, executing, and supporting Esri ArcGIS Enterprise;
  • Experience identifying and resolving complex technical issues;
  • Self‑motivated learner who continually keeps up to date with new technology;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • High caliber of self‑motivation with the ability to work well within groups;
  • Ability to work efficiently and produce accurate and thorough work; and
  • Ability to work independently, remain flexible, and handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
