Job description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This requires creating vehicles that are not only capable and sustainable but also intelligent. The Autonomy Team is at the heart of this mission, developing the software and hardware that allow our drivers to feel safe, confident, and relaxed behind the wheel.

As a Staff Product Manager for Autonomy, you will be the bridge between raw data and the next generation of driving features. You will define how we measure success, uncover the why behind user behavior, and lead the cross-functional charge to make our autonomy features the most intuitive and loved in the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Product Analytics: Define and manage the core product usage metrics for Rivian’s autonomy features. Analyze massive datasets to identify trends, friction points, and improvement opportunities. You won’t just report data; you will translate it into actionable product recommendations.
  • User Feedback Loop: Gather customer feedback on products to create a 360-degree view of the user experience and work with Xfn partners to identify new channels for additional insights.
  • Product Improvement: Utilize insights from product usage and customer feedback to identify product improvement opportunities, set up initiatives and drive them with Xfn partners.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the connective tissue between Engineering, UX Design, Sales and Marketing. You will drive the implementation of insights through working with Xfn teams.
  • Operational Excellence: Utilize tools like Databricks and SQL to build models and conduct analysis that provide real-time visibility into feature health and adoption, and identify drivers of key metrics to tackle.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 6+ years of professional experience in Product Management, Data Analytics, or Strategy within the technology, autonomy, automotive, or consumer product sectors.
  • Ownership/ Influencing: Proven track record of leading complex, high-impact projects from conception through launch and iteration. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and influencing without formal authority.
  • Analytical Power: You are an expert in data manipulation. Professional experience with SQL and good understanding of statistical analysis. Working knowledge of R, JMP and other statistical analysis tools is highly desirable.
  • Technical Ecosystems: Familiarity with Databricks or similar big-data environments is essential for processing the high-volume telematics data generated by our fleet.
  • Collaborative Spirit and Communications Skills: A natural ability to partner with Engineering to understand technical constraints, while also speaking the language of Marketing and Sales to drive product adoption.
  • Passion for Adventure: A genuine interest in the future of mobility and a commitment to Rivian’s mission of sustainability.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Expertise in R and statistical analysis. Degree in data analytics/ statistics.
  • Background in Management Consulting or Corporate Strategy.
  • Experience in Strategy & Operations functions within a high-growth tech environment.
