Job summary

Encore Boston Harbor is seeking a Staff Auditor to support audit planning and complete audit engagements. The role requires clear communication with leadership, adherence to Encore standards, and delivering excellent guest and team member experience.

The Staff Auditor will conduct internal audits, perform risk reviews, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with gaming regulations and professional standards while collaborating with management and external auditors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting and audit experience.
  • CPA license is a plus and registration/licensing may be required in MA.

Responsibilities

  • Performs internal audits and supports planning and execution of engagements.
  • Prepares comprehensive risk reviews and assessments.
  • Maintains internal audit manual and documents in compliance with standards.
  • Communicates findings and recommendations to management and external auditors.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

ABOUT ENCORE BOSTON HARBOR

Encore Boston Harbor is a luxury global destination gaming resort that will feature 671 hotel rooms with sweeping views of the Boston skyline and Boston Harbor, ultra-premium spa, luxury retail, high-end dining, and state-of-the-art ballroom and meeting spaces. It is the largest private single-phase development in the history of the Commonwealth. Situated on the waterfront along the Mystic River and connected to Boston Harbor, Encore Boston Harbor will include a six-acre park along the water that will feature a harborwalk, an events lawn, public viewing areas, ornate floral displays and retail and dining experiences that overlook the Encore Harbor Walk.

Salary Rate:$75,000.00 - $75,000.00

TheEncoreBoston HarborStaff Auditorwill support audit planningand completeaudit and review engagements. TheStaff Auditorshould be comfortable communicating the corresponding issues and audit requests directly with the company leadership.Responsibilitiesinclude butarenot limitedto:maximizing opportunities for departmental and company success; maintaining allEncoreStandards:and ensuring excellent guest and team member experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures allEncoreBoston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.
  • Prepares comprehensive annual riskreviews andassessments.
  • Manages thedepartmental performance, and the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies andprocedures,records and reports.
  • Maintainsquality assurance program and develops and maintains a working Internal Audit Manual. Ensures the department’s work is performed in accordance with appropriate professional and company standards.
  • Reviewsactivities of theorganizationto ensure that all applicable internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and controls property wide are enforced.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with management, independent public accountants and regulatory auditors. Coordinates work with external auditors.
  • Keeps informed of all new developmentswithin the department and makesrecommendations designed to maximize department and company success.
  • Manages multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
  • Must have the ability to promote positive, fair, and ethical relations with all team member, with allEncorecontractors, and in all interactions within theHost and Surroundingcommunities as an ambassador of theEncorebrand.
  • Conductsinternal audits.
  • Summarizes and reports onfindings and recommendations. Ensures prompt and appropriate reporting of significant audit finding and compliance violations.
  • Strong background and experience with audit methodologies and techniquesand maintains current knowledge of gaming regulations and professional standards.
  • Excellent project management, oral and written communication skills.
  • Planning, executing and completing financial statement audits.
  • Research and analyze financial statements and audit related issues.
  • Works with safety as apriority andfollows department and company safety standards.
  • Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.

Age, Gaming and Certifications:

21 years of age or above.

Will berequiredto obtain andmaintainregistration,ora license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming

CPA License a plus.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experiencerequired.

Minimum3years ofAccounting and Auditexperiencerequired.

Requiresstrong computer skills andproficiencyin Microsoft Office.

Candidatemust have experience withauditplanning and project management.

Mustpossessoutstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.

Resort or gamingindustry experiencea plus.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in Englishrequired,second language a plus.Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and group situations.

Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data,establishfacts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to decipher reports andmaintainreports on request.
