Louisiana Public Service Commission in Baton Rouge seeks a Staff Attorney to assist the Deputy General Counsel and lead attorneys in docketed proceedings. You will help protect ratepayers’ interests while balancing the positions of regulated utilities and apply federal and state utility laws.

• Must possess a current Louisiana license to practice law.

• Acts as lead attorney in docketed proceedings before the Commission.
• Identifies issues, develops strategy, and determines Commission Staff position on issues.
• Attends meetings, status conferences, hearings, and makes appearances on behalf of the Commission Staff.
• Drafts and files all necessary legal pleadings, including pre-hearing and post-hearing motions and pleadings.
• Prepares status reports and briefing materials for Commissioners regarding exhibits placed on the Commission’s Business and Executive Session Agenda.
• Coordinates with subject matter experts and advises on laws, regulations and policies applicable to the matter.
