The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection invites applications for a Staff Attorney 2 in the Office of Legal Counsel, BETP, to support energy policy and decarbonization programs.

Responsibilities include drafting briefs and opinions, reviewing statutes and contracts, and advising agency leadership; travel may be required. Hybrid work arrangement available; located in New Britain, CT.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience practicing law.
• Admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut.

Responsabilités

• Represent the department in administrative and public proceedings before PURA, FERC, and DOE.
• Analyze technical evidence and filings with ISO-NE, FERC, DOE.
• Draft and review briefs, recommendations, findings of fact and law, legislation and contracts.
• Provide legal counsel to agency leadership and technical staff.
• May testify at energy or legislative proceedings.
