Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer - Threat Research to secure health tech by integrating security across SDLC, cloud and enterprise systems. You will partner with engineering teams to identify risks, design controls, and strengthen defenses while mentoring others.

You will conduct threat research, perform assessments, and contribute to scalable security architectures, improving overall security posture across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in application security or related roles.
• 5+ years experience with programming or scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• 3+ years securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• 3+ years with Docker and Kubernetes.
• 3+ years with IaC or Security as Code practices.
• 3+ years performing security assessments and threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support application security standards and practices.
• Partner with engineering to integrate security into design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Promote secure coding and remediate findings.
• Contribute to security automation for efficiency and scale.
• Conduct threat research, vulnerability analyses, and assessments.
• Design and support security architectures across cloud and enterprise.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge on security.
