Job summary

onsemi is seeking a Staff Applications Engineer for the SiC Products group in Scottsdale, AZ. The role focuses on evaluating advanced SiC power modules, validating technologies, and supporting production release.

You will conduct theoretical analyses, simulations, bench testing, and interact with global customers to shape future product roadmaps. Requires strong English communication and up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5–6 years of experience, a Master’s with 3–4 years, or a PhD in power electronics.
Experience with power module validation is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of power converter topologies.
Solid knowledge of SiC device behavior and key tradeoffs.
Familiarity with control theory, analog circuits, power supply design, and basic digital electronics.
Experience with PCB layout, LabVIEW, and/or Python is a plus.
Strong proficiency with SPICE simulators, SIMPLIS/Simetrix, and MATLAB or equivalent tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Travel up to 10 percent to support customers worldwide.

Job Description

onsemi is looking for an experienced engineer to join the SiC Product Division as a Staff Applications Engineer. This role is based in Scottsdale, Arizona.

As a Staff Applications Engineer, you will work in a fast‑paced team that evaluates new Silicon Carbide (SiC) technologies, validates next‑generation SiC power modules for industrial markets, and supports release to production. The work includes theoretical analysis of power converter topologies, simulation, and hands‑on bench testing. You will interact with leading global customers and collaborate with teams across onsemi. You will also have a direct influence on future product roadmaps.
