Staff Product Analyst, Product Analytics
San Mateo, Los Angeles, or San Diego, United States

This role will serve as a strategic analytics lead across multiple product and business areas, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics Engineering, Finance, and other cross-functional teams. The Staff Product Analyst will be responsible for identifying long-term monetization and product growth opportunities, shaping product strategy through data-driven insights, and establishing scalable measurement frameworks that support decision-making across initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic analytics thought partner, using data to shape product strategy, challenge assumptions, identify opportunities and risks, and influence key decisions.
  • Lead analytics strategy for complex product areas, partnering with Product, Engineering, Business, and Data teams to translate strategic objectives into KPIs, targets, measurement frameworks, and actionable insights.
  • Lead measurement and experimentation strategy, including A/B testing and causal inference approaches, ensuring rigorous methodologies are applied to evaluate product impact and inform investment and launch decisions.
  • Own complex, ambiguous analytics initiatives end to end, defining the analytical approach, integrating complex data, and applying advanced analytical techniques to uncover insights and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Influence and communicate with senior stakeholders, developing concise, compelling narratives that connect analytical findings to business outcomes and drive action.
  • Elevate Product Analytics capabilities, establishing scalable frameworks and best practices while mentoring analysts on analytical approaches, stakeholder management, and communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Business, Economics, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant professional experience in product analytics, business analytics, data science, or a related analytical role. A related Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional analytics initiatives with a high degree of autonomy, including situations where requirements, ownership, or the path forward were ambiguous.
  • Proven ability to influence product strategy and decision-making across teams and senior stakeholders. Strong product and business acumen, with experience translating broad business objectives into analytics and measurement strategies, KPIs, experimentation plans, and actionable recommendations.
  • Deep experience with experimentation and measurement, including A/B testing, hypothesis testing, experiment design, and statistical analysis. Experience with causal inference or quasi-experimental methodologies is highly preferred.
  • Advanced SQL and proficiency in Python or R, with strong knowledge of statistical concepts and analytical modeling techniques. Experience with user journey tools (e.g., Adobe CJA) and BI tools (e.g., Domo, Tableau) is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership presence and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to simplify complex analytical topics, develop compelling narratives, and communicate recommendations effectively to senior and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate other analysts, establish analytical best practices, and improve methodologies and ways of working across teams.
