Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Staff Research Scientist – Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join the ASIRT team in the Raleigh, NC area.

You will research, develop, test and deploy AI/ML and computer vision software for defense and intelligence applications. The role requires a strong background in AI/ML frameworks, data processing from multiple sources, and the ability to communicate results to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required (green card holders are not eligible).
• Eligibility to apply for and hold a U.S. security clearance.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar field with 2–4 years experience OR MS with 0–2 years.
• Strong foundation and experience using AI/ML frameworks and libraries.
• Solid mathematical background in linear algebra and probability.
• Experience with AWS cloud computing.
• Experience with Git and collaborative software development.
• Proficiency in mathematics, physics, robotics, sensor fusion, ML, CV or signal processing.

Responsibilities

• Process and integrate data from satellites, UAVs, ground vehicles, wearables and smart devices.
• Communicate technical results effectively within a team.
