Job summary

Standard Bots is seeking a Staff AI Research Engineer to advance our AI models and training systems for robotic applications. You will design, implement, and iterate on large-scale models, collaborating with the engineering team to deliver fast experimentation and reliable deployment.

We value deep ML expertise in diffusion and autoregressive methods, experience with self-driving or robotics pipelines from camera input to trajectory output, and a track record of deploying production ML systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of AI modeling experience, specifically within the self-driving car space (or PhD with 3+ years in the space)
• Proven track record developing and deploying large-scale ML models
• Experience with diffusion and autoregressive models in a professional setting
• Familiar with training, inference, and infra pipelines from camera input to trajectory output for robotics
• Experience with RL (reinforcement learning)
• Strong understanding of modern ML architectures and training techniques
• Experience with model debugging, optimization, and performance tuning
• Ability to implement ML research papers in production contexts

Responsibilities

• Design and implement state-of-the-art ML models and training pipelines
• Lead model development with rapid experimentation and prototyping
• Build robust evaluation and debugging systems for model behavior and metrics
• Collaborate with engineering to optimize training infrastructure and deployment
