Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Staff-level software and platform engineer to build and evolve our AI Platform and libraries. You will design, implement and maintain scalable systems used for training and deploying models across large GPU clusters, handling data from cameras, radar and LiDAR.

This role blends hands-on coding with guiding other engineers to raise architectural standards. You’ll work closely with ML teams, influence technical direction and contribute to observability, testing and deployment

Qualifications

• Deep Python expertise and hands-on software design experience.
• Ability to lead design, delivery and long-term evolution of systems at scale.
• Experience with concurrent, parallel or distributed computing.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow and cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Hands-on technical leadership while guiding other engineers on end-to-end projects.

Responsibilities

• Build modular libraries for multimodal data loading, distributed training and inference.
• Improve reliability, performance and developer experience for GPU-driven workflows.
• Collaborate with ML teams to turn complex requirements into stable tooling and APIs.
• Set technical direction and raise the bar for architecture, testing and observability.
• Lead projects end-to-end from discovery through adoption and maintenance.
