Job summary

Campfire in San Francisco is seeking an AI Engineer to build production AI agents that help customers complete real accounting tasks. You will combine strong software fundamentals with hands-on experience developing and operating agentic applications, from automating financial workflows to helping customers understand and act on their financial data.

Qualifications

• Strong backend experience building and operating production systems.
• Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered agents with tool calling and orchestration.
• Experience owning agent quality in production with monitoring and debugging.
• Judgment around data access, human approvals, and recovery from partial failures.
• Ability to balance accuracy, latency, cost and complexity in agent use cases.
• Track record of staff-level impact: leading initiatives and mentoring engineers.
