Zoom is seeking an AI Engineer for agentic AI in Zoom AI Companion (AIC) to build autonomous agents that perceive, reason, and act in dynamic environments. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, ML, Cognitive Science or related field; 10+ years industry experience (or Master’s +8+, or PhD +5).
  • Understanding of ML algorithms, neural networks, reinforcement learning, cognitive architectures, and multi-modality incl. speech/vision.
  • Programming in Python, C++, or Java; experience with AI frameworks/libraries (e.g., PyTorch).

  • Build scalable LLM-powered systems including RAG pipelines, tool-use workflows, and multi-step reasoning agents.

As an AI Engineer specializing in Agentic AI, you will develop intelligent agents that can autonomously perceive, reason, and act in dynamic environments as part of Zoom AI Companion (AIC).

Your work will directly impact the Zoom user experience by designing and implementing innovative algorithms and systems. These enhancements will improve workplace efficiency and customer engagement across Zoom Virtual Agent (ZVA), Zoom Customer Experience (ZCX) and Zoom Workplace, serving vertical domains like healthcare, education, banking, and insurance.

We are part of the Zoom AI Vertical Organization, dedicated to enhancing the Zoom user experience in workplace and customer interactions. Our team of innovative thinkers is focused on creating the next generation of AI technologies that can autonomously understand, learn, and adapt to improve user engagement and satisfaction. We are seeking an AI engineer to join our team and contribute to our groundbreaking Agentic AI project.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing backend orchestration layers between AI components within microservices, focusing on agent workflows and runtime operations.
  • Building scalable LLM-powered systems including RAG pipelines, tool-use workflows, and multi-step reasoning agents.
  • Building AI agents using frameworks like LangChain, Dify, OpenAI SDK or internal orchestration system through code (not no-code tools), ensuring proper agent flow implementation.
  • Developing integration between various AI components including LLM, RAG, TTS (Text-to-Speech), and ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) systems.
  • Writing and optimizing prompts for AI agents, conduct integration testing, and ensure proper functionality of agent systems.
  • Collaborating with research and product engineering teams to implement agent-based solutions that enhance user experience across vertical domains.
What We’re Looking For
  • Possess a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cognitive Science or related field, and 10+ years industry experience (or a Master's and 8+ years, or a PhD + 5 years).
  • Show an understanding of machine learning algorithms, neural networks, reinforcement learning, cognitive architectures, and multi-modality including speech and vision.
  • Exhibit development skills in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, and experience with AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch).
  • Have familiarity with Multiple Agent architectures and experience in designing and implementing multi-agent systems.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and critically about complex problems.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Minimum Salary Range or On Target Earnings

$177,100.00

Maximum Salary Range or On Target Earnings

$387,500.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
