Bell & Associates, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to support the full accounting cycle and own key accounting functions. You will work closely with an experienced team in a stable, low‑drama culture.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing, construction, distribution, or related industry is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Hands‑on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort learning accounting/ERP systems.
• High attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Someone who takes ownership, follows through, and doesn't need to be micromanaged.
• Collaborative, approachable personality that fits well within a close‑knit team.

Mansioni

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Review invoices, coding, purchase orders, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations, adjustments, and variance analysis.
• Assist with job costing, project-related accounting, and cost allocation.
• Analyze manufacturing and operational expenses and investigate unusual variances.
• Assist with revenue and expense recognition and ensure transactions are recorded in the appropriate period.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting.
• Assist with cash management and account activity.
• Support sales/use tax and other accounting compliance requirements.
• Assist with annual audits and provide requested schedules and documentation.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
• Identify discrepancies, process gaps, and opportunities to improve accounting procedures.
• Partner with operations and other departments to resolve accounting and financial questions.
• Provide additional accounting and reporting support as needed.
