Solar Landscape is hiring a Staff Accountant in Asbury Park, NJ, to support all areas of financial accounting, budgeting analytics and reporting in a fast-paced renewable energy environment.

The successful candidate will be energetic, organized, and capable of handling audits, month-end closes, and variances. This role offers hybrid work options and competitive compensation, reflecting location and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year college or university with at least 2 years of experience; CPA and public accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience in renewable energy or real estate accounting is desirable.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
• Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger; prepare and enter month end and other required journal entries.
• Assist with reconciling investment, equity, debt and partners distributions.
• Review and reconcile monthly transactions and balances for accuracy.
• Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and budgets.
• Prepare work papers and various reports for external auditing.
• Prepare monthly management reports, including Budget vs. Actual variances, and follow up on significant variances.
• Assist with quarterly and annual reporting requirements and financial covenants.
• Administer obligations under project agreements.
• Contribute to special projects and ad hoc requests.
