Job summary

SMS Mill Services, LLC is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, you will help coordinate timely close, revenue accounting, and controls, and support fixed assets and inventory processes.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Accounting and 5–7 years of accounting experience, with strong Excel and attention to detail. Industrial service experience is a plus as we maintain a rigorous, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required or preferred.
• 5-7 years of accounting experience.
• Industrial service experience would be a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the company credit card program.
• Assist in bank reconciliation and treasury functions as needed including borrowing base submissions.
• Actively participate in the month-end and year-end accounting close process including the preparation of standard and non-re occurring journal entries.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations such as prepaids, current and non-current liabilities, intercompany and other areas as assigned.
• Analyze company and subsidiary financial activity to ensure accurate financial records.
• Research and resolve accounting issues.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory filings, property tax filings and sales/use tax filings.
• Support the annual audit process.
• Other duties as assigned
