Job summary

The Fountainhead Group in New York Mills, NY seeks a Staff Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting by maintaining accurate records, preparing journal entries, and assisting with month-end closings. This role ensures compliance with policies and collaborates with multiple departments.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance with at least three years of manufacturing experience, and are detail-oriented with strong reconciliation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of three years of accounting experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and general ledger transactions.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash-related transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany accounting activities as needed.
• Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Assist with annual audits and requests from external accounting firm.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, Human Resources, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial data accuracy.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, record additions and disposals, and calculate depreciation.
• Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.
