Inspire Brands, Inc. seeks a Staff, Lease Accounting to support end-to-end lease accounting across our multi-brand portfolio. You will ensure GAAP compliance (ASC 842), manage month-end close, and work with FP&A, Real Estate, Lease Administration, and IT to deliver accurate reporting.

The role is based in Atlanta at our Global Support Center with an expectation to be onsite four days per week. A Bachelor's in Accounting and US GAAP knowledge are required, with CPA track preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff in the HSC support center.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure proper lease accounting for transactions.
• Perform ad-hoc projects and technical research to support company decisions.

Job description

The Staff, Lease Accounting, assists in performing Lease technical and operational accounting functions to support complete and accurate financial close, internal, and external reporting and the end-to-end lease cycle across the company's real estate portfolio ((Arby's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic, Jimmy John's, Dunkin', and Baskin-Robbins).

This position ensures that the lease accounting policy in compliance with US GAAP (ASC 842) is followed, along with the appropriate governance, controls, and segregation of duties. This role is highly collaborative and visible given lease accounting risk to the financial statements and important stakeholders. The position partners closely with FP&A, Real Estate, Lease Administration, Financial Systems, IT, and Treasury.

This position sits within our Atlanta based Global Support Center with an expectation to be onsite 4 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support end-to-end lease accounting process by maintaining proper accounting and documentation of all activity in accordance with US GAAP and in compliance with internal and external audits.
• Perform analysis of legal documents and determine lease classification in accordance with US GAAP.
• Complete month-end close processes including subledger work in CoStar, general ledger entries, and internal and external financial reporting deliverables, including reconciliations, roll forwards, footnotes, year-end deliverables and controls.
• Work closely with staff in HSC support center.
• Liaise with other departments within the organization to ensure lease transactions are properly accounted for.
• Perform ad-hoc projects and technical research to help analyze or support Company decisions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Certified Public Accountant track preferred.
• 1-2 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Oracle ERP, financial systems experience a plus.
