Job summary

DriveTime is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the accounting function under Senior Accountants and Controllers. You will prepare journal entries, run month-end closes, and assist with analyses and reporting.

The role includes interaction with auditors and participation in process improvements. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, 2–3 years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and intermediate Excel skills.

Responsibilities

Bridgecrest services roughly $25+ billion in finance receivables for DriveTime and other third parties. In short, as aStaff Accountant, you willperform key functions within the accounting segment and will have broad general exposure to accounting segments and functions. Working under the direction of Senior Accountants and the Controllers, you willprepare and recordjournal entries, preparemonth-end reconciliations and analysis, and assist in data compilation and validation for special projects and significant accounting models.

In long, ourStaff Accountantsare responsible for:

• Preparingmonthly reconciliations and journal entries for items such as cash, fixed assets, payroll, prepaids, general accruals, etc.

• Completingmonth-end closing responsibilities.

• Researchingaccounting guidance and make recommendations where necessary.

• Assistingin preparation and communication of management reports.

• Supportingexternal and internal auditors with quarterly reviews and annual audits.

• Work on process improvement, documentation, and control implementation.

• Interact with customers by providing monthly reporting, answering inquiries, and helping with special projects.

• Assistingin variance analysis on performance to budget and performance to forecasts.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

• 2-3 years’ overall experience in accounting.

• Working Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Intermediate Excel skills.
