Responsibilities

  • Handle tax filings and related activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of all year end tax forms (1098's and 1099's).
  • Coordinate annual State Tax Return filings with Tax Auditors.
  • Assist with annual tax preparation of 990.
  • Oversee payroll related state tax filing reporting.
  • International Taxable Income and Required Reporting; Manage Sprintax Calculus software.
  • Work with international students and vendors to complete Sprintax profiles.
  • Calculate, notify and record applicable federal tax related to financial aid, awards, vendor payments, and other sources of taxable income.
  • Prepare and distribute calendar year 1042-S forms.
  • Annual preparation and filing of 1042 forms.
  • Coordinate timely payments via EFTPS for Federal Tax due related to international taxable income.
  • Provide support to international students throughout the year and during tax season.
  • Oversee College-Wide system administration and training of the College's credit card program.
  • Back up for monthly reconciliation and recording of card expenses to the general ledger.
  • Oversee the college Amazon Business Prime account.
  • Coordinate College-Wide annual General insurance renewal; prepare related documentation and reports; liaise with brokers.
  • Oversee Workman's Compensation audit; reconcile investment accounts related to Annuities and CRUTS.
  • Prepare quarterly donor payouts for Charitable Remainder Unitrusts; reconcile Pooled Life Annuity Liability monthly.
  • Prepare year-end income and actuarial adjustment entries for year-end audit workbook.
  • Coordinate annual K-1 and Federal/State Tax filings for CRUTS.
  • Monitor cash flow, weekly and annual projections; review employee expense reports for accuracy.
  • Contribute to development of Financial Accounting policies with CFO and AVP.

SALARY: Grade 12 ($52,170 - $72,170)

ROLE: The Accountant II is responsible for performing complex reconciliations to include, but not limited to: the oversight of required tax form preparation and filings; International Student and Vendor Taxable Income and related tax form preparation; college-wide general insurance renewal; determining the necessity for and processing of documentation to affect changes to process and policies; and preparing schedules and other related financial data for the College's annual financial statements. Major responsibilities include coordinating the college's annual general insurance renewal, general ledger accounting, regular reconciliation of designated accounts and preparation and annual tax form preparation and filings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Required Tax Filings and Related Activities
  • Assist in the preparation of all year end tax forms (1098's and 1099's)
  • Coordinates annual State Tax Return filings with Tax Auditors;
  • Assists with annual tax preparation of 990;

  • Provide an appropriate level of support to international students throughout the year and during tax season regarding taxable income and filings;
  • College Wide System Administration
  • Oversees the administration and training of the company Commercial Credit Card Program;
  • Provides back up to the Accountant II for monthly reconciliation and recording of card expenses to the general ledger;
  • Oversees the administration of the college Amazon Business Prime Account
  • Insurance
  • Coordinates College-Wide annual General insurance renewal;
  • Preparation of documentation and reports as needed for insurance renewal;
  • Inquires with insurance brokers regarding requests/inquiries from college community;
  • Coordinates insurance claims with all relevant parties;
  • Oversee annual Workman's Compensation audit;
  • Annuity Accounting
  • Reconciliation of all investment accounts related to Annuities and CRUTS;
  • Prepares the computation of the quarterly donor payouts for the Charitable Remainder Unitrusts;
  • Reconciles the Pooled Life Annuity Liability monthly;
  • Prepares Year End Income and Actuarial adjustment entries as preparation for year-end audit workbook;

  • Responsible for the bi-weekly and monthly payroll recording to the general ledger;
  • Reconciliation of Faculty Home Loans;
  • Reconciliation of other general ledger accounts, as assigned;
  • Tracks all contracts outside of Capital Projects;
  • Monitoring of cash flow, weekly, and annual projections;
  • Reviews Employee Expense reports for accuracy and proper back-up, submits for payment;
  • Monitor and contribute to the development of Financial Accounting policies for the College in coordination with CFO, AVP and Director;
  • Special project planning and analysis, as required.
