Job summary

Ellwood National Forge in Irvine, PA is seeking a Staff Accountant in the Accounting Department. This non-exempt role may travel to support the Corry/Warren Plants and will report to the Director of Finance and Controller.

Responsibilities include general ledger, journal entries, month-end close, A/R, A/P, inter-company reconciliations, and ensuring financial records reflect the company’s position. A BA/BS in accounting with GAAP knowledge is required; 3–5 years manufacturing accounting

Qualifications

• S. or B.A. in Accounting/Finance.

• Advanced pc literacy (spreadsheets and word processing).

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, journal entries, month-end close, AR, AP and related accounting tasks.
• Collaborate with Director of Finance and Controller to understand the ledger.
• Post journal entries, perform analyses, and monthly closing activities.
• Record cash receipts and monitor daily cash activity.
• Handle inter-company transactions and reconciliations.
• Prepare account analyses and schedules for internal and external auditors.
• Reconcile expense accounts and complete special projects as needed.
• Provide backup for other accounting functions and maintain system controls.

Ellwood National Forge (ENF) is seeking a Staff Accountant working in the Accounting Department based in Irvine, PA, however assignments may require travel and support to the Corry/Warren Plants. This non-exempt position will report to Kelly Younger, the Director of Finance and Controller.

RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE:

• Financial Accounting (general ledger, journal entries, month-end closing, A/R, A/P, etc.
• Work closely with Director of Finance and Controller to acquire a full understanding of the Company's ledger
• Post journal entries, analysis, and monthly closing
• Post and Record Cash receipts
• Inter-company transaction / reconciliations
• Account analysis and schedules for internal as well as auditor requirements
• Reconcile various expense accounts
• Complete special projects as assignedProvide back up support for other accounting functions
• Maintain controls to ensure integrity of the computer system
• Ensure all financial records accurately reflect the financial position of the company
• Any other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time to support the business needs.
• regular attendance as scheduled is an essential function.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• S. or B.A. with major in Accounting/Finance
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced personal computer literacy, spreadsheet and word processing software
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Must be proactive, results oriented with a strong desire to succeed
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 -5 years of manufacturing accounting experience
