The Honest Company is hiring a Staff Accountant to support the accounting team with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will ensure accuracy across the general ledger and assist with month-end close tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 2-4 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, and strong Excel skills. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and a proactive mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required.
• 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, month-end close processes and financial analysis tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, Vlookups, and pivot tables.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and underlying analysis to support the month-end close process.
• Reconcile data from various sources to the general ledger for accurate financial reporting.
• Record month-end accruals, prepaid amortizations, fixed assets, and other adjusting entries.
• Prepare deliverables to support financial statements and respond to information requests.
• Investigate variances with monthly balance sheet and P&L analyses with commentary for leadership.
• Perform research for technical accounting purposes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business drivers and ensure accurate results.
• Compile analysis for quarterly reviews, audits, and tax preparation.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis or analytics as needed.
• Identify opportunities for AI/automation initiatives.
