Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace is seeking a Staff Accountant for Financial Reporting at the GAC Savannah site. The role focuses on financial reporting data analysis, journal entries, and ensuring accurate statements through established procedures.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with at least 2 years of related experience, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with Power Query and SAP. A Master’s or CPA can offset experience requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; related experience accepted.
• 2 years of related experience; CPA may offset 1 year.
• Proficient in MS Excel; Power Query and SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and maintains a complete and accurate general ledger; prepares managerial and financial reports.
• Prepares and compiles financial data timely to support schedules and deadlines.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for closing.
• Reconcile assigned accounts including preparation of documentation.
• Identifies problems and potential improvements to existing systems and processes.
• Prepares schedules, reports, presentations, etc. for management.
• Follows established procedures to perform routine tasks under supervision.
• Analyzes records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries.
• Monitors journal entry process to ensure accurate financial statements.

Position Purpose: Applies principles of financial reporting with a primary focus on basic analysis of financial reporting data, knowledge of financial reporting systems involved in the financial reporting process. Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

• Under immediate supervision, follows established procedures to perform tasks that are routine in nature, requiring little evaluation, originality, or ingenuity.
• Analyzes records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries.
• Specific area of responsibility.
• Responsible for making sure that the journal entry process is monitored and completed to ensure accurate preparation of financial statements.
