Job summary

The Department of Justice, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), IT Business Management Staff, Financial Execution and Oversight in Washington, DC, seeks an Accountant (Staff) to provide expert analysis and guidance on accounting programs and financial systems for the Working Capital Fund.

GS-0510-12 level; you must meet basic accounting qualifications including a 4-year accounting-focused background and specialized experience in accruals, reimbursements, billings, and financial data

Qualifications

Degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting (may include up to 6 hours of business law).
4 years of accounting experience or equivalent combination with professional accounting knowledge.
Optionally: CPA or CIA certification, or degree with substantial accounting coursework and demonstrated competence.

Responsibilities

Perform accounting operations involving accruals, reimbursements, billings, invoices, collections, and/or financial transaction validations.
Resolve accounting and internal controls issues and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
Analyze financial data and prepare reports, dashboards, and recommendations to support management decision‑making.
