Confidential Employer in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Staff Accountant for an on-site role focusing on tax preparation, financial statement work, and client advisory services for construction-industry clients. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate status, and public accounting experience with construction engagements.

• Public accounting experience working with construction industry clients.
• Experience with business tax preparation and financial statement preparation.
• Understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage assignments independently while collaborating with a supportive team.
• Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Tax or Engagement is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare federal and multistate business tax returns, including Forms 1120S, 1120, and 1065, along with individual tax returns.
• Assist with financial statement preparation, compilations, reviews, and audit engagements for construction industry clients.
• Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, financial schedules, and supporting workpapers.
• Develop experience with construction accounting, tax planning, financial reporting, and client advisory services.
• Work closely with experienced accountants and firm leadership to resolve accounting and tax questions.
• Communicate directly with clients and help them navigate their financial reporting and tax compliance needs.
• Use professional accounting and tax software to prepare accurate, timely work while continuing to develop your technical skills.
