United Central is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Bristol, TN corporate office under the Controller. The role collaborates with a six-person corporate accounting group across the accounting cycle and ensures accurate books and timely close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in accounting or related degree.
• At least one year of related accounting experience.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Advanced computer skills with strong Excel knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain an accurate and reconciled set of books and records, participate in the monthly close, record journal entries, reconcile cash accounts and balances, and perform accounting research.
• Under supervision, process vendor invoices, verify, code, reconcile expenses, and manage vendor relationships.
• Provide process improvement suggestions.
• Assist with external audits and statutory compliance requirements.
• Perform other work-related duties and be adaptable to changes.
