Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our CAAS team in Denver, CO, with openings in Colorado Springs or Salt Lake City. You will support client accounting functions, perform month-end processing, and manage routine A/P, A/R, payroll, and reconciliations for multiple clients.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years of accounting experience, with strong QuickBooks and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; combination of related experience may be considered.
• One to two years of accounting/financial services experience preferred.
• Technical knowledge of QuickBooks and common Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple clients, software, and chart of accounts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Complete month-end and other quarterly and annual processing.
• Coordinate accounts payable, cash disbursements, receivable, cash receipts, and payroll.
• Perform month-end processing and reconciliations (bank, credit card, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals).
• Complete sales tax returns, Form 1099s and related items for clients.

CLA is looking to hire a Staff Accountant for our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice who can sit in our Denver, CO office location. The position is also open in Colorado Springs, or Salt Lake City. Our CAAS team helps our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.

As a Staff Accountant, You Will

• Support multiple clients, software, and chart of accounts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Complete month-end and other quarterly and annual processing.
• Day to Day Transactions: Coordinates & processes accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll.
• Month End Processing: Completes basic financial statements. Coordinates and completes account reconciliations (i.e. bank & credit card reconciliations, prepaids, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals.)
• Other Quarterly/Annual Processing: Completes sales tax returns, Form 1099s and other forms or items as requested by clients.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• One to two years of experience providing accounting and financial services is preferred, exceptions can occur based on work to be performed.
• Technical knowledge of QuickBooks and other applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
