AKIRA is seeking a Staff Accountant in Chicago to manage day‑to‑day Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations, and month‑end close processes. This role emphasizes accuracy with high‑volume transactions and collaboration with stores, buyers, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, retail or e‑commerce a plus.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and AP and cash processes.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own full Accounts Payable cycle from invoice to GL posting.
• Execute weekly payment runs (ACH, wires, checks, virtual card).
• Maintain vendor master, W-9s, banking updates, and 1099s.
• Reconcile AP and assist month-end close with journal entries.
• Support audits and cross-functional projects.
