Job summary

Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. in Sandy Springs, GA is seeking an Accountant to perform full-cycle payables, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations in an office setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and 1–3 years of professional accounting experience; strong communication, Excel proficiency, and attention to detail are essential for timely, accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional experience in accounting and finance preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

• Match vendor invoices to purchase orders.
• Verify material receipt prior to payment processing.
• Code invoices and ensure correct coding in the system.
• Enter invoices into the system and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare weekly check runs and process checks for signing.
• Manage discount vendors and ensure discounts are captured.
• Assist with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Cross-train in Accounts Receivable for backup coverage.

Position Purpose: To execute basic accounting processes in the following areas: full-cycle payables, 3-way matching principle, cash disbursements, journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations. Duties &

Responsibilities

Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:

• Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
• Match vendor invoices to purchase order
• Verify all material is received prior to processing invoice for payment
• Check receiving documents for correct quantity and pricing
• Verify C/D, P/P, and labels on OS
• Code invoices or ensure coding is correct when matching invoices
• Enter invoices into system
• Resolve invoice issues / discrepancies
• Check with purchasers weekly on open purchase order status
• Prepare weekly check run
• Process checks for signing
• Manage all discount vendors and ensure discounts are properly taken
• Process corrugated invoices and scan all incoming mail weekly
• Communicate to vendors professionally on errors or invoice issues
• Manage the PO receipts report
• Prepare journal entries as assigned by Controller
• Assist with month-end close processes
• Balance sheet reconciliations semi-annually
• Cross-trained in Accounts Receivable to provide seamless backup coverage for manual invoice generation, shipment-based invoice delivery, and customer cash receipt posting.
