Akumin is seeking a Staff Accountant – Accounting and Financial Reporting to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the close process. You will prepare financial statements, footnotes, and journal entries to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reported figures.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), 2–3 years of related work, advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), and a CPA license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2–3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• CPA license preferred or required in some cases depending on location.

Responsabilités

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting.
• Prepare journal entries to record financial transactions to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness; investigate discrepancies and prepare correcting entries as needed.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting.
• Assist in annual financial audits.

Role Overview

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, partnering with top hospitals and health systems nationwide to deliver advanced diagnostic imaging and exceptional patient care close to home. The Staff Accountant – Accounting and Financial Reporting , supports the monthly and quarterly financial reporting and accounting month end close process through preparation of financial statements, footnotes, journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting reports. This position contributes substantially to the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of the financial statements and reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, management discussion and analysis and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting.
• Prepares journal entries to record financial transactions to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review assigned general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness, investigate questionable transactions, form reasonable conclusions, make recommendations to Accounting Management and prepare correcting journal entries as appropriate. Prepares monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Identifies, researches, and corrects account discrepancies.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting
• Assists in the annual financial audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 – 3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to perform analyses using Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other Excel capabilities.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
