Job summary

Phoenix3 Collective is seeking a Staff Accountant to strengthen financial reporting across multiple concepts. You will report to the Corporate Controller or CFO and partner with operations to build disciplined processes for scalable growth.

This is an in-office, M-F role supporting multiple hospitality locations with hands-on accounting responsibilities and opportunities to influence cross-location reporting and system improvements.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of general accounting experience, preferably with multi-entity or multi-location organizations.
  • CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP or UKG.
  • Experience with consolidated financial reporting or intercompany accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Record daily journal entries for revenue, expenses, accruals, and intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts for all operating locations.
  • Reconcile POS systems (Toast, TouchPOS, Square) with accounting records for sales, discounts, comps, and voids.
  • Process and reconcile tip distributions, gratuities, and service charge allocations per regulations.
  • Review vendor invoices and cost coding to departments and locations.
  • Support inventory management and COGS tracking with periodic counts and variance analysis.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and prepare depreciation entries.
  • Assist with sales tax, occupancy tax, and other local hospitality filings.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for each concept.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis by location and concept.
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership to ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Participate in process improvements and scalable-system implementations.

The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting across multiple entities within the collective. Reporting to the Corporate Controller or CFO, this role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in high-growth settings, enjoys partnering with operations, and takes pride in building disciplined financial processes that support scalability and accountability.

This is a M-F in-office position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record daily journal entries for revenue, expenses, accruals, and intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts for all operating locations.
  • Reconcile POS systems (e.g., Toast, TouchPOS, Square) with accounting records to ensure accurate sales, discounts, comps, and void tracking.
  • Process and reconcile tip distributions, gratuities, and service charge allocations in compliance with labor and tax regulations.
  • Review vendor invoices, food & beverage purchase orders, and ensure proper cost coding to departments and locations.
  • Support inventory management and cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking, including periodic counts and variance analysis.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and prepare depreciation entries.
  • Assist with sales tax, occupancy tax, and other local hospitality-related filings.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for each concept within the collective.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis by location and concept.
  • Collaborate with operations teams, general managers, and leadership to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Participate in financial process improvements and the implementation of scalable systems to support growth.
  • Contribute to building best-in-class accounting practices that meet the demands of a rapidly expanding organization.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 2-4 years of general accounting experience, preferably with multi-entity or multi-location organizations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a hyper-growth, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, or similar.
  • Experience with consolidated financial reporting or intercompany accounting.
