Pitney Bowes is seeking a Staff Accountant to support end-to-end journal entry prep, monthly close, and project accounting from our Shelton, CT location. You will collaborate with our India-based outsourced team (US hours) to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting policies.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end journal entry preparation across the full trial balance, ensuring GAAP-compliant entries.
  • Drive the monthly close with journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis.
  • Manage key transactional accounting flows with accuracy across business unit accounts.
  • Support project accounting and proper recording of project-related activity.
  • Deliver reporting and GL analysis using relevant tools to inform decisions.
  • Document current procedures and identify automation/efficiency improvements.
  • Meet and exceed SLAs to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Prepare documentation for internal/external audits and respond swiftly.
