Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated is seeking a Staff Accountant in Santa Ana, CA. You will assist in monthly close, prepare journal entries, and coordinate balance sheet and P&L analyses, including intercompany activity.

The role also covers audits support, fixed assets management, budgeting, and internal control implementation under Sarbanes-Oxley. Relevant manufacturing accounting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 2–7+ years exempt level experience in manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist monthly closing and financial statement production to ensure timely reporting.
• Prepare, verify and enter journal entries to the General Ledger.
• Coordinate monthly balance sheet and P&L analyses and reconciliations, including intercompany activity.
• Assist with coordination and preparation of financial audits by external auditors.
• Maintain division fixed asset system.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and reports.

Staff Accountant, Santa Ana CA.

Responsibilities:

1. Assists in monthly closing and production of financial statements to guarantee timely reporting and ensure the information reported properly reflects the division’s financial position.
2. Prepares, verifies and controls the entering of journal entries to the General Ledger
3. Coordinates the completion and review of the monthly balance sheet and profit and loss statement account analyses and reconciliations, including intercompany activity.
4. Assists in the coordination and preparation of financial audits as required by outside auditors.
5. Maintains division fixed asset system
6. Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and coordinating the completion of various required reports.
7. Assists in the review of financial policies and procedures, as necessary.
8. Assists with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley.
9. Assists in the preparation of various tax reporting requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree Accounting with 2 to 7+ years of exempt level experience in a manufacturing environment or any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge:

1. Accounting and auditing principles and practices
2. Principles of governmental financial administration including budgeting, reporting, taxation and revenue.

Skills:

1. Ability to operate computers and various software programs.
2. Strong Excel skills a must. Fixed Asset Software exposure desirable.

Abilities:

1. Examining and verifying financial documents and reports
2. Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
3. Prepare a variety of financial statements, reports and analyses.

Supervise, train and evaluate clerical and technical staff

Minimum Salary Range: $72,000 - $85,000
