Great Plains Manufacturing, based in Salina, KS, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This on-site role supports the CFO and Corporate Controller, handles journal entries, month-end close, and GAAP-compliant reporting.

You'll work with Kubota headquarters and international subsidiaries, prepare sales and use tax reports, and maintain standard monthly reports. Hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime during peak tax periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and related field; 1–3 years’ experience helpful but not required
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Focus on detail and accuracy
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

Responsabilités

• Prepare and analyze financial information for journal entries and reporting
• Perform month-end close tasks independently
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and clear reconciling items
• Maintain standard monthly management reports
• Support tax groups and audits with information from Kubota headquarters
• Research and apply appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions
• Assist CFO and Corporate Controller with ad hoc analyses
• Collaborate with the accounting team for international subsidiaries

Staff Accountant

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our team. This is an on-site role based in our Corporate office in Salina, KS.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may occasionally be required during peak tax times.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyze financial information for preparing and booking journal entries.
• Complete a variety of month-end closing tasks independently.
• Reconcile various general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and timely reporting; clear reconciling items within the following accounting period.
• Maintain and update standard monthly reports used by management.
• Provide support for requests from Kubota headquarters, and internal or external tax groups and audit teams.
• Research and apply the appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions.
• Support the CFO and Corporate Controller in providing information and analyses for various ad hoc requests.
• Collaborate with others in the department to support the accounting for international subsidiaries.
• Comply with data requests from government census and industry groups.
• Prepare sales and use tax reports and submit payments.
• Maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures.
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field; plus 1-3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role helpful, but not required
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Focus on detail and accuracy
• Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to stay on task with varying priorities
