Job summary

Gwynedd Manufacturing in North Wales, PA is seeking an accounting professional to join our finance team. This full-time role focuses on accounts payable, general ledger, and monthly close activities in a manufacturing environment.

You will maintain schedules for depreciation, assist with inventory costing, and support audits and compliance while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with full-cycle AP.
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and Bill.com.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, payroll, credit card, and other GL account reconciliations.
• Maintain prepaid expense, accrued expense, and fixed asset schedules, including monthly depreciation.
• Assist with inventory accounting, cycle counts, physical inventories, and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Prepare financial schedules, account analyses, and variance explanations to support financial reporting.
• Review, code, and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper documentation, PO matching, approvals, and accurate entry into the accounting system.
• Maintain invoice tracking and prepare weekly vendor payment runs.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, vendor inquiries, payment issues, and AP reconciliations, including suspense accounts.
• Reconcile company credit card transactions and ensure expenses are properly documented and recorded.
• Support sales and use tax reporting, external audits, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Document accounting procedures, identify process improvements, and assist with special projects and system enhancements.
• Provide accounting support and guidance to internal departments and serve as backup for other accounting functions as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Three to five years of progressive accounting experience required.
• Experience with full-cycle Accounts Payable required.
• Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and Bill.com is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, Microsoft Excel, and general accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may require the following over extended periods of time up to a full 8-hour work shift (excluding lunch and breaks): stand, walk, sit, squat or bend, kneel and rise, lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to and occasionally exceeding 50 pounds, view a computer or other digital screen, work on a computer, workstation or comparable system, and make accurate entries in such systems. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are required for detailed assembly and precision work. Work may take place in areas with varying temperatures or no climate control, varying noise levels, and production equipment in motion. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas at all times as required by company policy.
