Job summary

Melissa Powers CPA and Associates is seeking an entry-level accounting graduate to begin a career in a firm that invests in its people. You will work with experienced professionals, build foundational skills across returns, and gradually expand client exposure.

You will collaborate in a supportive, growth-focused environment that values attention to detail and a client-first approach. A CPA track is encouraged as you develop professionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 0-2 years of public accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Eager to learn, coachable, and a genuine team player.
• Interest in pursuing CPA license.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to interact with clients on tax and accounting matters.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business tax returns across 1040s, 1065s, and 1120S.
• Organize and document workpapers accurately and in accordance with firm standards.
• Support seniors, managers, and other team members.
• Flag technical questions and issues to senior team members appropriately.
• Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned which may include tasks related to accounting and/or audit and attest services.
