Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Staff Accountant, Financial Reporting to join our growing accounting team. This role supports monthly close, GAAP reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations in a collaborative finance environment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 1–3 years of experience, strong Excel skills, and a detail-oriented mindset. CPA candidate preferred; multi-entity experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Understanding of GAAP and basic financial reporting concepts.
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Support annual audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities.
• Collaborate with departments to gather financial information and support reporting needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses.

This role is responsible for supporting the preparation of financial statements, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
