Position Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of the manufacturing facility by performing general ledger accounting, fixed asset management, inventory accounting, and month-end closing activities. This role partners closely with the plant finance team and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely closing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, bilingual in Chinese and English, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting entries.
- Perform account reconciliations for assigned GL accounts.
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages
Fixed Assets
- Track fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger
- Run monthly depreciation schedules and reconcile fixed asset GL accounts
- Support annual fixed asset physical counts and impairment reviews
Inventory & Cost Accounting
- Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations, inventory valuation, and related GL activity
- Assist in cycle counts and periodic physical inventory processes
- Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and provide insight into cost drivers
- Review purchase price variances and support standard cost maintenance
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare recurring reports, including monthly expense analysis, production cost analysis, and material price variance reports
- Support budget-to-actual variance analysis for plant-level review
- Periodically report the financial results to plant General Manager
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, GAAP, and internal control requirements
- Support internal and external audit requests with documentation and schedules
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in SAP (FI/CO modules required; experience with product costing and material ledger is a plus)
- Fluent in both Chinese and English
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
