Job summary

Myers & Stauffer LC is a leading CPA and health and human services consulting firm focused on government-sponsored health care programs. We seek professionals with CPA credentials or progress toward CPA, and strong skills in health care auditing, data analysis, and regulatory interpretation.

You will engage in end-to-end audits, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting, while maintaining confidentiality and delivering thorough, accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Master’s degree in accounting preferred.
• CPA or CPA candidate.
• Experience with health care auditing and data analysis.
• Ability to review statutory/regulatory or other policy language and apply requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform reviews of Medicaid provider cost reports.
• Analyze health care provider financial information.
• Perform reimbursement calculations.
• Prepare written documents supporting professional decisions.
• Conduct desk reviews and various on-site audits.
• Conduct research to determine billing and reimbursement compliance with policies and regulations.
• Conduct all phases of the audit including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
• Review Federal and State policies related to each audit type before performing it.
• Prepare working papers documenting scope and findings in accordance with regulations and standards.
• Demonstrate excellence in communication, data gathering, analysis, and process improvement.
• Maintain security and confidentiality of protected health information.
• Maintain thorough electronic documentation.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Internship or equivalent working experience in accounting or related field
• Experience with health care auditing and data analysis
• Ability to review statutory/regulatory or other policy language and apply requirements
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency
• Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments
• Proficient use of applicable technology; specifically Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Ability to travel based on client and business needs
