Job summary

Red Coats Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to own bank reconciliations and support month-end close with a detail-oriented approach.

The role emphasizes accuracy, Excel mastery, and the ability to manage multiple reconciliations and processes in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of general ledger experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and the willingness to take on additional projects within the Finance department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in general ledger accounting with focus on month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting; proficiency in Excel; Lawson & AS400 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Bank reconciliations for multiple accounts (Payroll and Operating) and related systems.
• Manage Auto Leases and associated GL entries.
• AP/AR cash reconciliation mid-month and EOM.
• Investment bank reconciliations.
• Credit card processing and uploads.
• Auto ticket processing and other ad hoc projects.

Overview

We are seeking an energetic, positive, and results-driven Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will take ownership of all aspects of bank reconciliations and demonstrate persistence and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities. This role requires an enthusiastic and detail-oriented professional with superb organizational skills. A precise and systematic approach, coupled with excellent Excel skills, will be crucial. The staff accountant will play a critical role in the financial reporting process, focusing on bank reconciliations and assisting with month-end close activities.

Responsibilities

• Bank Reconciliations – Red Coats, Admiral Security, Datawatch (Payroll and Operating Accounts)
• Auto Leases
• AP/AR Cash Reconciliation (Mid-month and EOM)
• Investment Bank Reconciliations
• Credit Card Processing and upload (RC, AD)
• Auto Ticket Processing
• Other projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent years of experience required
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, with a focus on month-end close, ideally in a service-oriented industry
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel) - Experience with Lawson & AS400 is a plus.
