Job summary

T3 Performance, based in Ohio, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily financial operations, ensure accuracy, and assist with month-end close and reconciliations. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to uphold internal controls and GAAP requirements.

The role also involves preparing financial statements, reports, and budgeting/forecasting analyses to drive informed business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Early career accounting/finance experience, including internships.
• CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including posting journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Maintain accurate financial records, schedules, and documentation for balance sheet accounts with GAAP compliance.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements, internal reporting packages, and audit support materials.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis vs. budget/forecast.
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for leadership decisions.

Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across all accounting processes. This role handles tasks such as preparing and maintaining financial records, assisting with month-end and year-end close, reconciling accounts, and supporting audits. Additionally, the Staff Accountant works closely with internal teams to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in alignment with company policies and accounting standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries (accruals, prepaids, and reclasses) and reconciling general ledger accounts
• Maintain accurate financial records, supporting schedules, and documentation for balance sheet accounts, ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, internal reporting packages, and audit support materials
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis between actual results and budget/forecast
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses to support leadership decision-making and provide insights into business performance
• Partner with department leaders to monitor expenses and deliver financial insights
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, formulas
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to details
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience with month-end close processes preferred
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Early career experience in accounting or finance, including internships or relevant hands-on experience
• CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus
