Job summary

Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage journal entries, close processes, and reconciliation at our Albany, OR facility. The role covers payroll accounting, A/R, A/P, and prepaid/accrual accounting.

You will analyze data within our ERP system, support audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or Associate’s degree with 2–3 years professional accounting experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a critical eye for detail and organization.
  • Work effectively within a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general understanding of ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries such as system journals, expense accruals, and reclass transactions as appropriate.
  • Perform month-end closing tasks, including journal entries and monthly account reconciliation.
  • Payroll and cash disbursement journals.
  • Accounts receivable, invoicing and cash application.
  • Accounting for consumables usage and invoicing.
  • Process accounts payable for specific vendors receipts / invoices; reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide requested information for external audits.
  • Work cross-functionally with other groups to provide accurate accounting information, proactively identify, and resolve potential accounting issues, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for performing various procedures associated with recording business transaction activity within the general ledger and sub-ledgers. Other responsibilities include performing account analysis and reconciliation, process improvement activities, record-keeping, and audit support. The successful candidate must be able to analyze, document, and transact business within the organizations’ ERP systems in a highly accurate and efficient manner. Specific disciplines for this position include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll accounting, and prepaid/accrual accounting, but may expand or change based on the candidate’s qualifications and/or business conditions.
