Dyersburg State Community College is seeking an SSS Academic Coordinator to recruit, counsel, and arrange academic and support services for eligible DSCC students who are first generation or low income, helping them complete their degree.
The program is part of federal TRIO services, offering advising, tutoring, course selection help, financial aid information, FAFSA support, and transfer guidance to four-year institutions.
The SSS Academic Coordinator is responsible to the TRIO Director. The primary purpose is to recruit, counsel, arrange academic and other support services for eligible DSCC students who are first generation college and/or low-income students in order for them to successfully complete their degree.
Student Support Services is part of the federal TRIO programs through the Department of Education. The program is designed to help first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities progress through college to earn a degree. The services provided include but are not limited: advising, tutoring, advice and assistance in course selection, provide information on financial aid, financial literacy education, and assist students in transferring to a four-year institution.
Travel may be required for college tours. The Academic Coordinator should be able to after hours if a student need arises. Working conditions will include office work and group trips for college visits.
Minimum starting salary is $44,066 annually ($22.59 per hour). With additional experience pay increases to a maximum of $55,028.
