Job summary

IRIS in the UK (iSAMS) is seeking a Reporting Services Developer to design, build and maintain professional reports using SSRS, T-SQL and Power BI. Qualifications

• Hands-on experience creating reports using Microsoft SSRS.
• Strong SQL / T-SQL skills and confidence working with relational data.
• Experience gathering requirements and turning them into effective reporting solutions.
• A good understanding of Microsoft Power BI.
• Experience working directly with customers, clients or internal stakeholders.
• Experience investigating, diagnosing and resolving technical problems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with data.
• The ability to explain technical information clearly to people who may not have a technical background.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisation skills and the confidence to manage your own workload and deadlines.
• A proactive approach – you look for solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do.
• The ability to work independently while still collaborating closely with a wider team.
• Flexibility when priorities or customer requirements change.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain professional reports using Microsoft SSRS, T-SQL, Power BI and in-house reporting tools.
• Work directly with customers to understand reporting requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Develop custom reports alongside catalogue/template and built-in reporting solutions.
• Write and work confidently with SQL/T-SQL to retrieve, manipulate and present data.
• Take ownership of reporting requests, managing workloads and delivering deadlines.
• Investigate and resolve technical reporting issues using remote access tools and internal resources.
• Keep Service Desk system accurate with clear technical notes and updates.
• Collaborate with other Report Developers and iSAMS teams to resolve complex requirements.
• Proactively suggest better or more efficient ways to meet reporting needs.
• Identify recurring issues and help improve the wider service.
• Support customers and colleagues with technical and non-technical queries.
• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge resources.
• Contribute to team projects focused on improving report quality and efficiency.
• Keep knowledge of iSAMS reporting capabilities up to date as the platform evolves.
• Attend occasional in-person team meetings or events.
• There is potential to take on SSRS Trainer responsibilities.
