Gideon Contracting, LLC is seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to develop and review the Accident Prevention Plan, lead hazard analyses, and deliver on-site safety education and toolbox talks. The role emphasizes proactive problem solving for site-specific safety issues and enforcing the project safety plan.
The SSHO will manage and implement safety programs, conduct audits, participate in progress meetings, and ensure timely reporting consistent with regulatory requirements and
SiteSafety&HealthOfficer(SSHO)isresponsibleforthedevelopmentand/orreviewoftheAccidentPreventionPlan,activityhazardanalysis’s,onsitesafetyeducation,toolboxsafetymeetings,allaroundsafetycomplianceoftheproject,andaproactiveattitudetowardssolvingdifficultsite-specificsafetyissues.SSHOisresponsibleformanaging,implementing,andenforcingtheprojectAccidentPreventionPlan.
Thephysicaldemandsdescribedherearerepresentativeofthosethatmustbemetbyanemployeetosuccessfullyperformtheessentialfunctionsofthisjob.Whileperformingthedutiesofthisjob,theemployeeisregularlyrequiredtosit;useofhands,reachwithhandsandarms;talkorhearandsmell.Theemployeeisfrequentlyrequiredtostandandwalkincludingstairsorotherelevatedstructures.Theemployeeisoccasionallyrequiredtoclimborbalanceandstoop,kneelorcrouch.Theemployeemustbeabletoliftand/ormoveupto50pounds.Specificvision,colorvision,peripheralvision,depthperceptionandabilitytoadjustfocus.
Whileperformingthedutiesofthisjob,theemployeeregularlyworkson-siteattheconstructionworksitewhereemployeesareexposedtomovingmechanicalparts;highplaces;fumesorairborneparticles,outsideweatherconditions.Thenoiseintheseworkenvironmentsisusuallymoderatetoveryloud.
