Job summary

Prevailance, Inc. seeks a Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Combat Systems Subject Matter Expert to support CNSP as part of the Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT). The SME provides expert guidance, hands-on support, and troubleshooting to strengthen shipboard combat-system readiness.

Based in San Diego, travel across CONUS and OCONUS locations will be extensive to visit ships and provide Sailor-centric training and technical assistance. A SECRET clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience with SSDS combat systems.
• SSDS experience comparable to Electronics Material Officer aboard ships with SSDS.
• Minimum 15 years operating and maintaining US Navy networks and communications systems.
• Recent operational and maintenance experience with Navy EW and countermeasures systems (AN/SLQ-32, AN/SLQ-25 NIXIE, NULKA, SRBOC).
• Minimum 15 years operating and maintaining gunnery and stand-alone missile systems aboard warships.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level technical guidance and hands-on support for SSDS and related shipboard systems.
• Work directly with shipboard personnel to troubleshoot interfaces and improve operations and maintenance practices.
• Enhance overall combat systems readiness through training and technical assistance.

Overview

The Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Combat Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific Fleet (CNSP) as part of the Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT). The RATT provides direct, Sailor-centric training and technical assistance to surface ships to improve technical proficiency, material condition, organic capability, and overall readiness.

The SSDS Combat Systems SME provides expert-level technical guidance and hands-on support for SSDS and associated shipboard combat systems. Working directly with shipboard personnel, the SME helps strengthen technical knowledge, troubleshoot combat systems and interface issues, improve operations and maintenance practices, and enhance overall combat systems readiness.

Location

San Diego, CA, with extensive travel in support of shipboard RATT visits throughout CONUS and OCONUS locations

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience with the technical aspects of operating and maintaining the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Combat Systems suite
• SSDS experience comparable to that of an Electronics Material Officer (EMO) aboard ships equipped with SSDS
• Minimum 15 years of technical experience with the operation and maintenance of U.S. Navy network and communications systems, supporting systems, and interfaces with associated shipboard systems
• Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five years with U.S. Navy electronic warfare and countermeasures systems currently employed in the Fleet, including:
  • AN/SLQ-32 Electronic Warfare Suite
  • AN/SLQ-25 NIXIE Torpedo Decoy System
  • NULKA Active Missile Decoy System
  • Mk 36 Super Rapid Bloom Offboard Countermeasures (SRBOC) and Decoy Launching System
• Minimum 15 years of experience operating and maintaining gunnery systems aboard warships or military auxiliaries
• Minimum 15 years of experience operating and maintaining stand-alone missile systems aboard warships
• Ability and willingness to support extensive CONUS and OCONUS travel for shipboard RATT visits

• Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance
