Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to verify shipments, prepare outgoing and receive deliveries at the dock using warehouse management systems.

You will manage documentation, stage shipments, inspect items, and ensure accuracy between receipts and purchase orders, while maintaining a clean, safe work area compliant with SQFI/FDA standards.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree or two years of equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum six months in a warehouse or distribution environment required.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel required.
  • Attention to detail and quality required.
  • Ability to multitask in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

  • Document management for operation support.
  • Label, pack, and load items per specs.
  • Stage shipments for shipping.
  • Accept shipments and prepare docks for receiving.
  • Operate stretch wrap banders; prepare pallets and crates.
  • Unloads delivery vehicles; move items to proper areas.
  • Inspect for damage and discrepancies against records.
  • Maintain records in warehouse systems.
  • Check receipts against PO for shortages/damages.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials.
  • Keep area and equipment clean; follow safety regs.
  • Ensure facility is inspection-ready for SQFI, FDA, and customer needs.
  • In CGMP environment, monitor FIFO, Lot, and Age inventory.
  • May assist with inventory cycle counts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About the Position

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments. This position prepares outgoing shipments and receives deliveries to the warehouse at the dock and using warehouse management systems.

Functions
  • Document management: Manage the preparation, creation, retrieval, validation, and storage of documents necessary to support the operation.
  • Labels, packs, and loads items for shipment according to specifications.
  • Stage shipments for shipping.
  • Accept shipments and prepare docks for receiving.
  • Operates the stretch wrap banders and prepare pallets and crates for shipping.
  • Unloads delivery vehicles and moves items to appropriate area.
  • Inspects for damage, compares items and quantities received against freight bills or other records, and documents discrepancies.
  • Maintains records of all items received and shipped via warehouse management and inventory systems.
  • Checks receipts against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages, or defects.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Ensure facility is inspection ready at all times for SQFI, FDA, and customer needs.
  • If the site is a CGMP environment (Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations enforced by the FDA), monitor proper inventory requirements: FIFO (First In First Out), Lot, and Age.
  • May assist with inventory cycle counts.
  • Other applicable duties as assigned.
